Stuck on Dark Screen

Modified on Mon, 19 Apr 2021 at 02:20 PM

Please check you app store for any outstanding MiScore update that may exist and execute the update. Update on 24th March includes a fix for pressing the home button to ensure the backlight is raised

If you find that your device is not waking up out of the screen saver after touching the screen or rather the backlight is not returning back to a level in which you can view the app then it may be caused from either a glitch in the firmware of the phone or the device is over heating and to protect it, it keeps the backlight to a minimum.

We suggest try restarting your device (turning it off and on) as a quick resolution.

If problem continues then there are a few ways to help protect from overheating while in use.

1# Close down any other background apps

2# run in 'low power mode for iPhone owners (found in settings)- This is not recommended for Android owners.

3# remove any casing around the device to help ventilation

#4 reduce exposure to direct sunlight

#5 check the app 'settings' (located under the menu tab) for 'Brightness' level is 80% or less.

#6 check the app settings for Screensaver Timer is enabled and set to 30 seconds or less.

Another cause of the dark screen is  is pressing the 'home' button while in screen saver mode of your device instead of the screen to wake it out of the screen saver. We have detected that in some cases the backlight does not return to normal operation and then requires the device to be locked and unlocked in order for the screen to appear again.

If this occurs on your device, please ensure you touch the screen instead of the home button while app is in operation.
