Course Maps / GPS Distance

Modified on Tue, 18 Aug, 2020 at 2:45 PM

Selecting the distance to the green/pin in the top right of the scoring screen will revert you to a view of the hole from your current location on the course to the hole.

Distances shown in the app will either be a relative distance from your devices location to the middle of the green or to the actual pin location (if course staff have marked the hole with MiScore). The app will refer to this by either 'To Mid' or 'To Pin'.

We get requests for the app to display distance to bunkers, front and back of greens like other apps however MiScore maps is interactive in that you can simply touch any area of the hole/course display to provide you a distance from your current location to that point. It makes for a cleaner display rather than offer up a multitude of distances all over the map that may not apply to you.

It will also offer the distance to the Pin from that selected location as well making club choice easier.

The image below is an example of a golfer selecting the front of the green to get a distance from their location.

The view of the map should be directional to play towards the hole. If you are not experiencing this, then it is likely your maps is configured in driving mode to point north always.

To disable this

Open Google maps>
Go to Menu>
Scroll down to Settings>
Scroll down to Navigation Settings>
Scroll down to Keep map north up>
Deselect the switch next to this option.

Note: The view of the map is provided by google and the image may be taken a year or two ago and may display sandy greens.

Note2: If you experience delays in the distance to update in the app, It maybe an idea to reset your location services on your device. Here are some links in relation to this>

If you believe the distance to the green shown in the app is still incorrect, please notify MiClub support support@miclub.com.au with the details of the course and hole #.
